The sensors capture different information: volatile patterns and a mechanical response. Research has investigated whether combining these signals improves maturity or ripeness classification compared with either alone. Evaluate the combined system on independent fruit and inspect the errors that remain. More sensors do not automatically mean better decisions, and successful classification within an experiment does not establish performance for every future harvest population.
