Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestIs circulating air inside a mango ripening room the same as ventilating the room?
Circulation moves air through and around the load to distribute conditions, while ventilation exchanges room air with an outside supply. A room can have running fans and still accumulate respiratory carbon dioxide if air exchange is inadequate. Check both functions in the ripening system. Evaluate the fruit and room gas conditions together rather than assuming that visible fan movement proves the atmosphere is being renewed.
