Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestCan clear-looking recirculated wash water spread contamination between harvested mangoes?

Yes. Water can transfer microorganisms from one fruit to others without becoming visibly dirty. Clean appearance is not a microbiological control. Commercial systems need a validated water-management procedure that addresses incoming water, buildup during use, and verification of the process. Do not treat a shared wash tank as equivalent to a fresh household rinse or improvise sanitizer concentrations from unrelated produce guidance.
