Fruit Development, Ripening & HarvestDoes fruit touched by floodwater have the same status as mangoes wetted by ordinary rain?
No. Floodwater can carry sewage, chemicals, and other contaminants from outside the production area. Food directly contacted by contaminated floodwater needs assessment under applicable food-safety guidance and should not be salvaged through routine rinsing. Record the affected area and separate exposed produce rather than mixing it with otherwise unaffected harvested mangoes.
