No. Organisms can occupy tissue after another injury has occurred. Ask whether the finding explains the earliest symptoms and whether it was obtained from a useful transition between healthy and affected tissue. Provide the sequence of damage, including any preceding cold, wounds, or feeding. A laboratory identification becomes more useful when interpreted alongside that history; the presence of an organism alone should not erase evidence of an earlier physical or physiological problem.
