Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersHow does disease incidence differ from disease severity when checking mangoes?

Incidence records how many of the examined units are affected; severity describes how much damage those affected units carry. Keep the unit explicit, such as fruit, leaves, or panicles. Many lightly marked fruit and a few badly rotted fruit can create very different management concerns despite a similar informal impression. Recording both measures makes changes easier to interpret and prevents a count of spotted leaves from being mistaken for the amount of canopy lost.
