Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersCan checking only hanging mangoes underestimate a pest problem that makes fruit fall?

Yes. If damaged fruit have already dropped, the remaining canopy can give an overly favorable picture. Examine recently fallen fruit as a separate group and record their condition before decomposition obscures the evidence. Keep canopy counts and ground observations distinct rather than combining them without a sampling plan. The comparison helps reveal whether apparent improvement reflects healthier fruit or simply the earlier loss of the most affected part of the crop.
