Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersCan mango algal spot injure stems rather than merely mark leaves?

Algal infection can involve stems, where bark thickening and cankers may accompany branch injury. Examine stems supporting heavily affected leaves and document whether the bark itself is changing. This warrants a different assessment from a few cosmetic leaf patches. Have the organism identified before treating it as an ordinary leaf fungus, and retain photographs of the junction between affected and healthy bark for the diagnostic service.
