Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersWhat is under-skin browning in mango quality assessment?

Under-skin browning describes diffuse discoloration beneath the outer surface and can become apparent after fruit enters marketing. It differs anatomically from discoloration confined to lenticels or the fine resin-canal network. Include shallow sections as well as whole-fruit photographs when submitting a sample. Keep assessment dates with the lot, since an arrival inspection alone may miss a defect that expresses later during distribution or ripening.
