Mango scab can produce shot holes and distortion in young nursery leaves under wet conditions. Look for small lesions surrounding the holes and compare earlier photographs, rather than assuming missing tissue always means chewing. Submit fresh leaves with intact early lesions as well as damaged examples. If no feeding insects are found, keep disease in the investigation instead of repeatedly treating an assumed caterpillar problem.
