During non-fruiting periods, adults can shelter beneath loose bark on trunks and major limbs; later they move toward new growth and fruit. Look in natural crevices without stripping healthy bark, and obtain an identification of any beetles found. Match monitoring to the seasonal location of the insect. Searching only fruit throughout the year misses adults while they are occupying another part of their life cycle.
