Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Pests, Diseases & DisordersCould a large wax-covered insect among mango mealybugs be their predator?

Mealybug-destroyer lady beetle larvae are covered with white wax and can resemble their prey. They tend to be larger and more active, with distinct legs and mouthparts beneath the covering. Photograph the insect feeding before removing it. Identifying the predator avoids destroying useful biological control while trying to remove every white insect from the colony.
