Pests, Diseases & DisordersIs fungus growing from a dead mango insect necessarily a disease of the mango tree?
Some fungi infect insects rather than the plant on which those insects were feeding. An insect cadaver with fungal growth can therefore represent a natural-enemy interaction, although later decomposers can also colonize dead insects. Photograph the insect and growth without spreading material through the nursery. Identification is needed before interpreting it as beneficial control, a plant pathogen, or a reason to apply fungicide.
