Light falling into empty aisles or outside the growing area still consumes electricity. Evaluate the lighting layout and planted footprint when estimating cost per useful amount of delivered light. Fixture efficiency alone does not capture these losses. A different mounting pattern or spacing plan may improve delivery without changing the type of lamp or its rated power.
