Climate, Cold & Container GrowingShould a wind-chill forecast be used as the actual temperature of my mango tree?
Wind chill describes heat loss from people and animals, not a direct measurement of plant tissue. Use actual air temperature and local plant observations when assessing mango exposure. Wind still affects drying and heat exchange, and leaves can also differ from air temperature through radiation or evaporation, so dismissing the index does not make a windy cold event harmless.
