The cooling process uses energy as droplets evaporate into the air. Water that mostly lands on leaves or floors can increase wetness without producing the intended cooling effect. Evaluate droplet delivery and available evaporative capacity along with the temperature response. More visible mist is not necessarily more useful cooling, particularly when the air is already close to saturation.
