Compare growth at known developmental ages as well as at the intended dispatch date. Plants sown together may have had different lengths of time above the medium. A wide size range at dispatch matters operationally, but it does not necessarily measure inherited vigor differences. Keeping emergence dates permits both a production assessment and a fairer growth comparison.
