Record the grade assigned before grafting, then follow each grade through establishment and the nursery's normal acceptance stage. Compare usable output and rejection reasons rather than assuming the largest grade is best. Stem size may help organize grafting work, but it is not proof of future orchard productivity. Keep those two evaluation purposes explicit.
