It contributes a production outcome even when it provides no orchard yield measurement. Record attempted grafts, successful nursery plants, and established field trees separately for each treatment. Investigate grafting and plant-health causes before assigning incompatibility. A rootstock that performs well only among surviving trees may still present an important nursery multiplication cost or unresolved establishment problem.
