Identify their exposure on the trial map before interpreting results. Where possible, distribute treatments so boundary conditions do not belong mainly to one rootstock. Keep boundary status with individual measurements and seek analytical advice if it materially affects comparison. Removing inconvenient edge trees only after seeing their yields can introduce another bias rather than resolve the original one.
