Plants with different canopy sizes may experience different water demand under the same watering schedule. Record initial condition and size so survival or injury can be interpreted in that context. Equal irrigation does not automatically mean an equivalent biological challenge. Include later recovery and production rather than equating reduced growth with an advantageous rootstock response.
