Seeds, Rootstocks & BreedingCan a mango breeding score hide a defect that matters to the intended buyer?
A combined score can allow high sweetness or appearance ratings to offset a trait the buyer considers unacceptable. Keep the component observations and any essential acceptance limits visible beside the overall ranking. Review actual fruit with the intended users. The scoring system should support the breeding objective rather than let a convenient arithmetic total determine release by itself.
