Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Seeds, Rootstocks & BreedingWhy does producing mango callus not prove that tissue-cultured trees can be supplied?

Callus is a culture of growing cells, not a finished rooted tree. A multiplication method must also produce organized embryos or shoots, develop complete plantlets, and establish them outside culture. Ask which of those stages was demonstrated and how many plants completed the sequence. A strong response at an early stage can coexist with poor recovery of usable nursery plants.
