Mango FAQ

Seeds, Rootstocks & BreedingWhat does acclimatization mean for laboratory-regenerated mango plants?

Acclimatization is the transition from protected culture conditions to a nursery environment where the plant must maintain itself. Roots and shoots formed in a vessel do not by themselves establish successful transfer. Evaluate survival and continuing growth after removal from culture. Include this stage when assessing multiplication capacity, because laboratory plantlet counts can overstate the number of usable trees produced.
