Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Seeds, Rootstocks & BreedingWhy do mango rootstock researchers measure gas exchange rather than only shoot height?

Gas-exchange measurements describe how leaves take up carbon dioxide and lose water under the test conditions. They can reveal physiological differences not evident from height alone. Use them to investigate mechanisms alongside growth and cropping records. A favorable reading on one sampling day does not establish better yield or water performance throughout an orchard season.
