Not necessarily. A panel's demonstrated resolution applies to the material tested. New introductions may require additional informative markers or reference samples. Mango fingerprinting studies select panels against defined accession groups. Retain the original marker results and extend testing when necessary rather than assigning a new tree to the closest existing fingerprint solely because the current panel cannot distinguish it.
