Transformation introduces genetic material into target plant cells, whereas marker-assisted selection uses DNA information to choose among existing genetic differences. Mango research has investigated both kinds of work. A marker test does not itself alter the tree. Keep those methods distinct when explaining a selection's origin, and evaluate regenerated transformed material separately from laboratory evidence of DNA introduction.
