The receiver needs fruit that performs acceptably after storage as well as inside the package. Follow representative fruit through the intended opening, ripening, and sale sequence. Some handling injuries become clearer later. A package-exit inspection is therefore an incomplete commercial endpoint, even when fruit remain firm and attractive at the moment the trial package is opened.
