Mango FAQ

Orchard & Commercial GrowingWhat does occlusion mean in camera-based mango crop estimation?

Occlusion means fruit are hidden behind foliage, branches, or other fruit. A camera count measures visible detections unless the system can reconstruct additional views or apply a validated correction. Compare estimates with actual harvest counts in the orchard's canopy type. A high detection accuracy on visible fruit does not establish an accurate count of the crop concealed inside the tree.
