A model trained under controlled artificial lighting may encounter very different contrast, shadows, and exposure during the day. Mango field research found that lighting conditions materially affected counts. Validate the proposed operating schedule, not only the camera hardware. A repeatable night survey does not establish that the same settings will provide comparable results during a sunny harvest shift.
