Mango FAQ

1 FAQ

Orchard & Commercial GrowingHow is partial root-zone drying different from simply shortening mango irrigation runtime?

Partial root-zone drying alternates water delivery between parts of the root zone, while an ordinary deficit reduces water more generally. It requires a layout capable of controlling those areas separately. Mango field trials assess the resulting yield and quality as well as water use. Cutting runtime on an unchanged system does not reproduce the spatial treatment studied in those experiments.
