Space mango trees for the canopy size you intend to maintain and the work needed to keep it that size. An unpruned vigorous landscape tree needs much more room than a deliberately managed compact planting, and dense orchard spacing is not a low-maintenance backyard recommendation. Leave clearance from buildings, utilities, neighboring property, and other canopies, as well as access for harvest. Use locally proven mature dimensions and a realistic pruning plan rather than selecting a close spacing simply because the young trees fit.
