Mango size is influenced by the variety, seed and fruit development, crop load, and the tree's growing conditions. Small fruit may be normal for that variety or may follow a heavy crop, water or root stress, or poor early development. Compare the crop with sound fruit from the same variety and check whether the entire tree or only a few fruit are affected. Extra fertilizer does not guarantee larger mangoes; first review root health, moisture, canopy condition, and the amount of crop the tree is carrying.
