Grafting & PropagationHow do I germinate a mango seed?
Use a fresh, sound mango seed and remove the fruit flesh from the stone. The woody husk can be opened carefully to inspect the kernel without cutting it, although forcing it open can damage the embryo. Place a viable kernel in a clean, well-drained growing medium in a warm protected position, keeping it moist but not saturated. Do not dry it like a bean seed, and do not expect a supermarket fruit label to establish the seedling's future cultivar identity.
